A new house flipping project, Everyday objects repurposed, Furniture and decor I've purchased, Handmade decor for my mini houseI’m planning to design new author business cards soon, so I have a big stack of old ones that I was going to recycle. Lucky for me, I realized they’d make perfect mini books! Once I made a few, I was inspired to stage this mini book signing.
The tiny handbag is made from a coaster. The newspaper is an image I found online, shrunk down, and printed out.
You know how I love a tiny bunting or garland to festive-ize a room box!
These coasters are great for all kinds of dollhouse and room box projects!

Melissa Johnson has been a wonderfully supportive fan of FlipThis(Mini)House over the years. She recently reached out to me to show off the loft-style dollhouse she just completed. With her permission, I’m sharing it here!
Made from scratch from an Ikea wood storage box and decorated with a combination of handmade furniture and vintage pieces from the 60’s and 70’s, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind piece! Finished size is 18X18 inches.

Flipping my mini houseJust like with a real house, decorating the Flip This (Mini) House project never ends. The living room, which I just highlighted earlier today, has gotten a make-under. The bubble chair has been swapped with the Eames lounge chair and ottoman from the house’s upstairs office. The fluffy white rug has been swapped out with a carpet from the house’s storage drawer. Ahhh! That’s better!

Much of the art, furniture, and accessories in the Flip This (Mini) House project are repurposed objects I found for next to nothing at garage sales and thrift stores, or that I created from materials from craft stores and hardware stores.

The light above the door is made from a tiny bottle of Curve cologne, two candlestick wax catchers, a small brass ring, and a chain. The planters are West Elm measuring cups. The mid century doorknob and backplate are made from a button and star I cut from aluminum foil. The welcome mat is cut from a place mat.

Soon you’ll get to see the other side! See which of my handmade items, eBay finds, splurges, and repurposed household objects made the final cut. But first, there are a few more pieces of trim to install, a couple of places where the paint needs to be touched up, and a some final decorating decisions to be made.
